國光客運於9月8日起全面停駛台南、高雄、屏東等國道路線，同時結束西螺轉運站經營權，讓不少民眾深感不捨。雲林縣交通工務局也表示，國光停駛的西螺路線，將由統聯客運接手，乘車地點也改到統聯站點，至於西螺轉運站，未來會由西螺鎮公所重新招商。
